Even though the launch of Unity was disappointing for many, Assassin’s Creed is still a powerhouse franchise among gamers - with over 20 titles bearing the name, the AC empire is here to stay. In fact, with the plethora of titles already out and the many more that are sure to come, the studio continues to expand the experience players have with the games and each other. And that’s where Assassin’s Creed Initiates comes in.
In 2012, Ubisoft created Initiates to bring the fan community together, touted as “the place for all things Assassin’s Creed,” and is poised to be a growing community going forward (if the publisher gets their way).
Yesterday, the Ubisoft Live Update Team announced that it would be fixing some issues the Initiates site was having recording legacy experience and synchronization time. The update was conducted at 9am EST today and looks to have fixed some of the issues.
Players who have been unable to attain Arno Dorian’s Legacy Costumes should now have access, and synchronization should be much quicker thanks to the fix. However, after the update this morning, a Ubisoft Community Manager reported on the company’s forums that a Legacy Data issue still exists on the site.
The Community Manager also mentioned that players who don’t have the correct Initiates level might need to reconnect their account to Unity within the game itself. No word yet on what time the additional fix will take place, or when it’s expected to be completed.
Updating and maintaining Initiates is a crucial part of Ubisoft’s strategy for the Assassin’s Creed universe. Online communities for AAA games continue to grow in popularity, something Ubisoft knows very well. Both the Watch Dogs Companion app and Assassin’s Creed IV Companion app were successful extensions of their respective games. Ubisoft is no doubt eager for Initiates to follow suit.
